Livestock Judging Camp

Want to learn the skills it takes to be a champion livestock evaluator? Maybe you just want to learn more about your 4-H and FFA livestock projects. From the novice to the advanced, the NIACC Livestock Judging Camp is for you.

All 4-H and FFA members aged 10 to 18 are eligible to attend. Campers will stay in the new Campus View Student Housing Complex, and will experience the college life, all while developing their judging skills.

Scheduled day sessions include the evaluation of both breeding and market animals, notetaking, terminology discussions, understanding how a judging contest is ran and how it is scored, oral reasons, the history of livestock evaluation and a tour of NIACCS campus.  At the conclusion of the educational seminars campers can put their new knowledge to the test in a judging contest and be eligible for many awards!

The contest will consist of a junior division (10 to 13 years of age) and a senior division (14 to 18 years of age) and awards will be given for top evaluators within species, for oral reasons, and for overall score.

Coaches, enter your team (minimum of 4) and receive a 10% discount on each camper.
